Roles & Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and respectfully, matching assistance to each patient’s needs
• Use positioning aids and expert technique to produce high-quality CT images
• Operate CT equipment and all related imaging hardware with confidence
• Administer contrast media as ordered and assist with special CT procedures
• Protect patients through adherence to X-Ray Department policies and radiation safety
• Practice sterile technique and universal precautions to maintain a safe environment
• Maintain accurate radiology records and documentation according to departmental policy
• Clean and restock rooms after each exam to keep the workflow smooth
• Assist in training and mentoring radiology students and new staff

Qualifications

• Registered/certified CT Technologist required (ARRT registration required)
• BLS certification required
• Satisfactory completion of formal radiology technology training in an AMA-approved school
• Two years previous CT/radiology experience preferred
• Comfortable working a weekend day-shift block (Sat/Sun/Mon, 3x12s)

Education

• Completion of formal radiology technology training in an AMA-approved school (as stated)
• ARRT registration / CT certification

Knowledge & Skills

• CT imaging and equipment operation
• Contrast media preparation and administration
• Patient positioning and safe transport techniques
• Infection control: sterile technique and universal precautions
• Radiology recordkeeping and departmental documentation
• Room cleaning, restocking supplies, and maintaining a tidy workspace
• Training and mentoring students or junior staff
