Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams following ARDMS protocols for OB/GYN, abdominal, pelvic, endovaginal, small parts, and vascular studies
• Greet patients, explain procedures with care and clarity, and select appropriate equipment to ensure high quality imaging and patient comfort
• Document QA and QC activities including high level disinfection and compliance with Joint Commission regulations
• Handle department office duties such as scheduling exams, answering phones, printing reports, retrieving charts, and assisting providers
• Collaborate with SEARHC staff and clinicians to maintain a positive, efficient working environment
• Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment, order supplies as needed, and ensure the department runs smoothly

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification preferred or equivalent sonography credential
• Associates degree with certification in diagnostic sonography, graduate of an accredited ultrasound program preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience
• Skilled in oral and written communication and comfortable interacting with patients and providers
• Ability to perform independent ultrasound scanning and maintain equipment in serviceable condition
• Familiarity with QA/QC documentation, infection control practices, and high level disinfection

Education

• Associates degree with certification in diagnostic sonography
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to standard ultrasound exams
• Proficiency in OB/GYN, abdominal, pelvic, endovaginal, small parts, and vascular ultrasound techniques
• Experience with QA/QC processes and Joint Commission documentation
• Patient-focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to organize, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment
• Comfort with basic office duties including scheduling, report printing, and chart retrieval
