Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound exams across general and specialty areas, including breast and thyroid imaging
- Assist with and support interventional procedures such as liver biopsies, paracentesis and thoracentesis
- Operate and maintain GE Logic equipment (E10, E9, S8) to produce diagnostic images
- Document exams accurately in Meditech and ensure timely, clear reporting
- Deliver excellent patient experience with compassionate communication and attention to comfort
- Collaborate with the radiology team and unit staff to support efficient workflow and patient throughput
- Follow unit guidelines and safety protocols, including appropriate use of trophon sterilization in exam rooms
Qualifications
- RVT certification required (hospital specifically lists RVT as required)
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience
- Proven experience with breast and thyroid imaging and assisting on biopsies and fluid procedures
- Comfortable using Meditech for documentation and GE Logic E10/E9/S8 imaging systems
- Ability to work the scheduled assignment (13-week travel contract) and float to FSED as needed
- Professional presentation and adherence to dress code (black scrubs required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Vascular and general ultrasound principles (RVT skillset)
- Hands-on operation of GE Logic E10, Logic E9 and S8 ultrasound systems
- Procedural assistance for liver biopsy, paracentesis and thoracentesis
- Breast and thyroid sonography techniques
- Electronic documentation and charting in Meditech
- Infection control and trophon high-level disinfection workflow
