Shift Type: Choice of 4x10 or 5x8 schedule (specific start/end times assigned at time of offer); coverage may include off-hours, weekends and holidays as needed — rotating/variable shifts with 24/7 emergency coverage

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert pre-, intra- and post-procedure nursing care for Interventional Radiology patients across adolescent to geriatric populations
- Perform and support a wide range of IR procedures: angiograms, peripheral revascularization, nephrostomy and drainage tube care, gastrostomy/jejunostomy support, central line and port placement, paracentesis and thoracentesis
- Manage procedural sedation, circulation monitoring and recovery-phase care with vigilance and compassion
- Maintain sterile technique and assist the interdisciplinary team of physicians and technologists during elective and emergent procedures
- Provide care for patients undergoing renal, liver and lung biopsies and support post-procedure monitoring
- Participate in emergency on-call coverage and float to the Cardiac Cath Lab when scheduled
- Document care accurately in Cerner and McKesson EMR systems and ensure required compliance paperwork is complete
Qualifications
- Current New York RN license (must be uploaded with profile) — required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be uploaded) — required
- Previous Interventional Radiology (IR) experience — required
- Experience with procedural sedation, circulation monitoring, and recovery-phase care — required
- Experience caring for adolescent through geriatric patients — required
- Ability to float to the Cardiac Cath Lab — required
- Previous traveler experience — highly preferred
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
- Permanent address on file that matches Driver License/State ID (facility will validate); note: travelers from certain NY counties will not be considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of IR procedures and vascular access techniques
- Comfort with procedural sedation, hemodynamic monitoring and post-procedure recovery care
- Experience using Cerner and McKesson EMR systems
- Strong assessment, IV/central line/port skills and sterile technique
- Ability to function in a Trauma Level I environment and respond to emergent cases
- Excellent teamwork, communication and patient education skills
