Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered medical/surgical nursing care during assigned 12-hour night shifts
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor trends, and escalate changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and document care accurately in the clinical record
• Float between units as needed to support staffing and maintain continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility policies, including required immunizations and screenings

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (must be verifiable via Nursys)
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP as applicable and current
• Medical/Surgical nursing experience with night and weekend availability
• Comfort and experience with 12-hour shifts and floating between units
• Ability to complete full compliance profile and required testing within the specified timeframe
• Proof of required immunizations or documented declination (MMR, Varicella, TB, COVID-19, Tdap, Hep B, Influenza)

Education

• Active RN license (specific degree not stated in posting; employer requires RN licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg clinical knowledge and solid patient assessment skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond to changing acuity on night shift
• Familiarity with EHR documentation and electronic medication administration
• Effective communication and teamwork across disciplines
• Competency in common med-surg procedures and monitoring
• Attention to detail for compliance items, fit testing, and required screenings
