Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based medical-surgical nursing care to adult inpatients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor clinical status, escalating concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record and complete required competency checklists
• Support unit throughput by assisting with admissions, discharges, and patient education
• Participate in required competency exams and skills validations (Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist)

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (license verification required prior to start)
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred; demonstrated clinical competence in med-surg settings
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by the assignment (documentation or verification needed)
• Availability to work weekends and to meet per diem scheduling needs
• Ability to complete compliance profile within two weeks of start (vaccination records/MMR/Varicella, negative TB, drug & background screening)
• Pass required screenings: drug screen (minimum 10-panel), TB test/PPD, fit test, and health/physical statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Proficiency in medication administration and recognition of adverse events
• Comfortable with common inpatient procedures and monitoring devices
• Clear, professional communication and team collaboration
• Accurate documentation and familiarity with competency checklists and unit protocols
• Adaptability in fast-paced unit environments and ability to prioritize patient needs
