Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality stepdown nursing care for patients needing close monitoring and escalation prevention
• Manage ventilators and tracheostomies safely and confidently, including suctioning and airway assessments
• Perform thorough patient assessments, escalate changes in condition, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while documenting care in the patient record
• Apply acute care skills to manage telemetry patients and intervene as needed to prevent ICU transfer
• Complete required Prime Core Competencies and Skills Checklists to maintain clinical proficiency
• Adhere to infection control, vaccination, and fit-testing requirements to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active, verifiable RN license (license verification required prior to start)
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP are preferred when applicable
• Comfortable and experienced with ventilator and tracheostomy management
• Experience in stepdown, critical care, or acute care settings preferred
• Available to work weekends and flexible per diem schedules
• Ability to complete full compliance profile within two weeks of start (drug screen, TB, immunizations/attestations, background checks)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in ventilator management and tracheostomy care
• Strong patient assessment and acute care decision-making
• Telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac/respiratory decompensation
• Familiarity with Prime Core Competencies and skills validation processes
• Accurate documentation and handoff communication
• Infection prevention practices and immunization compliance knowledge
