Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry patients closely and intervene promptly to keep them safe
- Provide skilled medical-surgical nursing care, including medication administration and assessments
- Float between units as needed to meet patient care demands with adaptability and professionalism
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required competency exams and checklists
- Respond to emergencies and escalate concerns to providers when necessary
- Support unit flow during weekends and peak periods to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in ongoing learning and complete mandated screenings and immunizations
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure — verifiable via Nursys
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- DCI/BVP certification as listed in the compliance requirements
- Ability to float between units and work required weekends
- Completion of required compliance screening within two weeks of start (per policy)
- Must meet personal health history requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB test, Hep B, influenza, Tdap, varicella, drug screen, fit test, etc.)
- Successful completion of Prime assessments and skills checklist prior to or during onboarding
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry rhythm recognition and interpretation skills
- Solid medical-surgical clinical judgment and assessment abilities
- Basic pharmacology knowledge (medication administration safety)
- Competency with required Prime exams: pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, core competencies, specialty exams
- Effective communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary units
- Adaptability to float between units and manage variable patient acuity
