Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry to detect changes in patient status
- Perform accurate rhythm interpretation and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications safely and follow basic pharmacology protocols
- Float between units as needed to support patient care and staffing needs
- Provide clear, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Deliver compassionate patient and family education related to cardiac care and treatments
- Complete required competency screenings and skills checklists in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification required)
- BLS certification required
- DCI/BVP certification required
- Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and able to work weekends
- Per diem availability for a 26-week assignment
- Willingness and ability to float between units
- Must complete compliance profile within two weeks of start
- Required health and screening items: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB test, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Varicella, influenza vaccine, drug screen, fit test, and other facility health requirements
Education
- Active RN license required
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing acceptable (RN required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Basic pharmacology knowledge relevant to telemetry patients
- Strong assessment and clinical observation skills
- Clear written and verbal communication for documentation and handoffs
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with competency exams and skills checklists
