Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide individualized therapeutic interventions to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional activities
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care teams to create and update treatment plans
• Document patient progress accurately and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
• Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain a clean, therapeutic environment

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or eligible for licensure in Massachusetts
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Experience working in post-acute, skilled nursing, or outpatient rehab settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with excellent communication skills

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Completion of required clinical rotations and state licensure as applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
• Knowledge of gait training, transfers, and adaptive equipment
• Comfortable with patient documentation and electronic medical records
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
• Strong observational skills and ability to adapt treatments to patient needs
