Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide individualized therapeutic interventions to help patients regain mobility and independence
- Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional activities
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care teams to create and update treatment plans
- Document patient progress accurately and communicate changes in condition promptly
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
- Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain a clean, therapeutic environment
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or eligible for licensure in Massachusetts
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Experience working in post-acute, skilled nursing, or outpatient rehab settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with excellent communication skills
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Completion of required clinical rotations and state licensure as applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
- Knowledge of gait training, transfers, and adaptive equipment
- Comfortable with patient documentation and electronic medical records
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Strong observational skills and ability to adapt treatments to patient needs
