Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; exact days vary (department-driven schedule) with every-other-weekend coverage required — night shift

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert emergency nursing care for a high-volume, fast-paced ED
- Triage and prioritize patients quickly and accurately to improve outcomes
- Manage trauma and stroke patients following established protocols
- Use Cerner for timely, thorough documentation of assessments and interventions
- Operate and monitor cardiac monitors, Baxter pumps and related ED equipment
- Coach and mentor team members in real time to foster a culture of excellence
- Deliver excellent patient experience using AIDET and clear communication
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient flow and disposition
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (state authorization required)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience; at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Requested: 2 years’ experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
- Certifications required before start: ACLS and BLS
- Additional required certifications before start: PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Previous HCA experience preferred
- Teamwork mindset and ability to give and receive real-time feedback
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency department nursing and trauma care
- Stroke assessment and management (NIHSS familiarity)
- Rapid patient triage and high-acuity decision making
- Cerner documentation and electronic charting workflows
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
- Cardiac monitoring and rhythm recognition
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume ED with variable patient ratios
- Strong communication, coaching, and teamwork abilities
