Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a 30-bed Med Surg unit with telemetry
• Monitor telemetry and patient status closely, identifying and escalating changes promptly
• Administer medications and manage heparin drips, IV therapy, and CVC care safely and accurately
• Perform indwelling catheter care and other skilled procedures per unit guidelines
• Document thoroughly and timely in Meditech to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with clinical coordinators, case management, and PCTs to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with compassion
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by using communication boards and team-focused care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing with telemetry skills
• Comfortable with CVC care, indwelling catheter management, and heparin gtts
• Proficient with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Strong teamwork, communication, collaboration, and compassionate bedside manner
• Willingness to work rotating schedules, weekends, and participate in holiday rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• IV therapy management and heparin drip titration
• Central venous catheter (CVC) care and maintenance
• Indwelling catheter care and infection prevention practices
• Electronic charting in Meditech and accurate clinical documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Time management, prioritization, and the ability to thrive in a 1:6 patient ratio environment
