Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med-Surg nursing care to a diverse patient population on a 12-hour night shift
• Administer medications, treatments and closely monitor patient status while maintaining safety and standards
• Document patient care accurately and promptly using Meditech
• Collaborate with unit staff, PCTs and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent patient-centered care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and intervene/respond to changes in condition
• Educate patients and families in a compassionate, clear manner to support recovery and discharge planning
• Support unit flow and staffing needs, including floating within facility Med-Surg guidelines

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in the assignment state)
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience (per job requirements)
• Experience documenting in Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Prior night shift experience and comfort working 12-hour overnight rotations
• Team-oriented and compassionate approach to patient care
• Willingness to meet scheduling requirements (including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) and wear required navy scrubs

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surg clinical assessment and patient care skills
• Competency with Meditech documentation and electronic charting
• Ability to manage typical Med-Surg equipment and a 5-6:1 patient ratio
• Clear communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Good time management and prioritization during overnight shifts
• Adaptability to unit staffing patterns and facility floating policies
