Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement engaging activities tailored to residents' abilities and interests
• Assess and reassess resident activity needs through observation, conversation, and documentation
• Support community reintegration by accompanying residents on outings to malls, theaters, restaurants and parks
• Provide one-on-one engagement and compassionate support during activities
• Coordinate logistics with hospital staff to ensure supplies, equipment and AV systems are ready
• Maintain and update the activity calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts with other departments
• Work with dietary staff to arrange special or ethnic food selections and off-site meal notifications
• Prepare, set up, clean up and store equipment after activities and assist with inventory management
• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care tasks as needed and participate in interdisciplinary meetings

Qualifications

• CNA certification required
• Active BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Recreational Aide experience (no exceptions)
• Experience with MDS is essential
• Proven ability to follow treatment plans and independently execute recreational activities
• Comfortable operating audiovisual equipment and coordinating supplies
• Ability to safely transport residents on community excursions (vehicle operation experience preferred)
