Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based inpatient oncology nursing care during night shifts
• Safely prepare, verify and administer IV chemotherapy per ONC/Chemo certification and unit protocols
• Document assessments, interventions and medication administration accurately in EPIC
• Monitor patients for treatment responses and acute changes; initiate interventions and escalate per policy
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacy and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effect management and follow-up care
• Support unit flow by floating to Med/Surg when staffing needs require flexibility

Qualifications

• Current CA Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONC/Chemo certification required for chemotherapy administration
• Epic charting experience required
• Demonstrated inpatient acute oncology experience with IV chemotherapy
• Ability and willingness to float to Med/Surg units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology nursing knowledge including chemotherapy safety and administration
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record and accurate clinical documentation
• IV therapy skills and safe medication administration practices
• Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills during acute events
• Effective communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to educate patients and families with empathy and clarity
