Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and document QC testing on designated equipment to keep patient results reliable
• Schedule and coordinate nurse visits for phlebotomy, testing, and procedures
• Administer immunizations, injections (IM/SQ), and oral medications safely and with clear documentation
• Draw, prepare and label lab specimens for pick up to ensure timely diagnostics
• Handle clinic telephone triage and coordinate care with providers
• Cover medical assistant duties as needed to maintain smooth clinic flow
• Obtain 12-lead EKGs, monitor vitals and respond to cardiac monitoring needs
• Start and maintain IVs and assist with wound care and specialty procedures

Qualifications

• Active California LVN license (CA LVN) — must be in good standing
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC (required)
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions or declinations accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Urgent Care or ER nursing experience (required)
• Phlebotomy certification and IV certification (required)
• Experience charting in Epic / CS Link (required)
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in Internal Medicine, Urgent Care or ER
• Pending licenses are not accepted; local clinicians within a 50-minute commute are welcome

Education

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program (LVN) or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Phlebotomy and IV therapy/starting IVs
• Medication administration (IM, SQ, oral) and vaccine administration
• Telephone triage and patient communication
• Vital sign monitoring and basic cardiopulmonary support including 12-lead EKGs
• Epic / CS Link charting and quality control testing
• Wound care, dressing changes and wound vac familiarity
• Orthopedic basics: cast care and crutch walking assistance
• Respiratory support including oxygen administration and nasal cannula
• Foley catheter insertion (male & female) and urine specimen instructions
• Isolation precautions, medication reconciliation and pain assessment
