Shift Type: Rotating day shifts, 4x10 schedule, 6:30 AM - 8:00 PM (includes weekdays and weekends; floating between units as needed)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify sterile and non-sterile compounding (including TPN and IV preparations) with meticulous attention to sterile technique
- Safely prepare and package antineoplastic agents and support chemotherapy workflows
- Manage medication dispensing systems (Pyxis) and conduct inventory and override reports
- Review and verify medication orders in Epic, ensuring accurate dosing across populations (pediatrics, geriatrics, adults)
- Provide pharmacotherapy management and clinical dosing consultation across specialties (cardiac, infectious disease, renal, oncologic, etc.)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient medication therapy and contribute to clinical decision-making
- Float between units as needed to maintain safe medication practices and continuity of care
- Maintain adherence to facility policies, observed holidays coverage and traveler documentation requirements
Qualifications
- Active pharmacist license for the state of California required (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient/acute care pharmacy experience required
- Travel experience required — comfortable working as a traveler in acute care settings
- PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree preferred; RPh credential recognized
- BLS certification preferred; BCPS and other specialty certifications are a plus
- Demonstrated compounding and IV preparation skills, including sterile technique and chemotherapy handling
- Experience with Epic charting and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Willingness to float between units and work rotating weekends
Education
- PharmD preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven compounding pharmacy skills (sterile and non-sterile), including mixers for TPN and IV piggybacks
- Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy management across multiple disease states
- Familiarity with high-alert medication processes and anticoagulation/warfarin dosing protocols
- Experience packaging antineoplastic agents and safe chemotherapy handling
- Comfortable with inventory and override reporting workflows
- Clinical dosing expertise: pediatric, geriatric, cardiac, renal and pharmacokinetic dosing
- Workflow experience with Epic and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Ability to communicate clearly with clinical teams and provide meaningful medication recommendations
