Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based evaluation tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes
• Provide skilled therapy interventions and adjust care based on progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic care
• Document evaluations, plans, and progress accurately and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients, families, and staff on strategies to support communication and safety
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• State SLP license or ability to obtain one (eligibility acceptable; licensing support available)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or demonstrated clinical competency
• Experience working with adult rehabilitation populations preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
• Clear background check and any required health screenings

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management
• Experience with cognitive-communication and voice disorders
• Proficiency with standardized assessment tools and functional goal setting
• Comfortable documenting in electronic health records and maintaining compliance
• Ability to collaborate effectively with PT, OT, nursing, and medical staff
• Strong communication, time management, and caseload prioritization skills
