Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in collaboration with radiologists.
- Process, review and transmit diagnostic images to PACS with attention to image quality and patient safety.
- Operate and maintain mobile and stationary radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment competently and safely.
- Provide compassionate patient care: explain procedures, ensure comfort, and monitor patient status.
- Follow protocols for infection control, safety, and required health screenings and immunizations.
- Document procedures, patient information, and maintain accurate records in the electronic system.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by communicating clearly with technologists, radiologists, and support staff.
Qualifications
- Current State Nuclear Medicine License issued by CDPH (California Department of Public Health).
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine Technology (required).
- Current BCLS (AHA) / BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of acute clinical radiology experience and at least 1 year working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Graduate of a program accredited by JRCNMT or CAMRT.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with PACS and image processing workflows.
Education
- Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program accredited by JRCNMT or CAMRT (Associate degree or certificate).
- BLS (AHA) / BCLS certification required.
Knowledge & Skills
- PACS image processing and transmission
- Nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedure familiarity
- Operation of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment (mobile and stationary)
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Competent computer and digital imaging skills
- Patient preparation, safety, and monitoring procedures
