Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to long-term care residents
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and feeding while preserving dignity and independence
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team to support great outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
• Support infection prevention practices including vaccine- and screening-related protocols
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to create a safe, comforting environment
• Help with safe transfers and use of mobility aids following facility protocols

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New York state preferred/required)
• Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination and seasonal influenza vaccination as required by the facility
• Successful completion of a Trinity 10 Panel drug screen prior to start
• Previous long-term care experience is a plus and helps you hit the ground running
• Strong communication, patience, and a team-oriented attitude
• Current CPR/BLS certification recommended (check facility requirements)

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs, resident-centered care, and basic clinical observations
• Familiarity with long-term care routines and infection control practices
• Ability to document care accurately and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
