Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and transfers while following proper lifting and safety protocols
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
• Help create a welcoming environment by engaging residents and supporting their routines
• Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to keep residents safe

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in New York
• Active registration with the NYS nurse aide registry as required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working flexible per diem shifts, including weekends and nights
• Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
• Background check and required state/employer clearances completed

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and NYS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing care principles and resident-centered care
• Vital signs measurement and documentation
• Infection prevention and hand hygiene best practices
• Safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Time management and prioritization in a busy long-term care setting
• Friendly, respectful communication with residents, families, and staff
