Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care to promote dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to enhance each resident’s daily experience
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment that fosters wellbeing

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification active in New York
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or nursing home settings is a plus
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen as required
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
• Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist residents as part of patient care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of infection control practices and resident safety
• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Comfortable with vital signs, reporting, and observing changes
• Effective teamwork and time-management skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with HIPAA and resident privacy practices
