Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care consistent with care plans and Nursing Administration guidance
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
- Take and record vital signs, observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Support safe patient transfers and fall-prevention measures to protect residents
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with nurses and therapy teams
- Contribute to a positive resident experience through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New York State
- Experience or interest in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and maintain required immunizations
- Flexible per diem availability and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with resident care and activities of daily living
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
- Clear communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Reliable documentation and good time-management skills
