Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct nursing care to residents in accordance with facility policy
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the medical record
- Perform routine assessments and monitor resident status, reporting changes to supervisory staff
- Maintain accurate clinical and administrative records, supporting smooth operations
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident care plans
- Support infection prevention protocols and adhere to required health screenings and vaccinations
- Assist with orientation of temporary staff and help maintain a positive care environment
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - active or eligible for verification in New York
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Successful License/Certificate Verification as part of onboarding
- Ability to meet facility personal health requirements including COVID-19 vaccine, fit test, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA), physical/health statement, and drug screen
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, resident-centered approach
- Previous nursing or long-term care experience preferred but motivated new grads with strong clinical skills welcome
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent LPN training
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and medication administration skills
- Familiarity with long-term care nursing workflows and documentation
- Basic administrative skills for charting and coordinating care
- Infection control and standard precautions knowledge
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
- Teamwork, empathy, and clear communication with residents and families
