Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to telemetry, medical-surgical and DOU patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to rhythm changes promptly
• Manage airway/ventilator and tracheostomy care when assigned (preferred skills)
• Document patient care efficiently and accurately in EPIC
• Perform thorough assessments, implement care plans and evaluate patient responses
• Respond to emergencies using BLS/ACLS protocols and participate in code responses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate discharge planning and patient education
• Complete required competencies, skills checklists and maintain licensure and certifications

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of California (License/Certificate Verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing; DOU experience preferred
• Comfortable floating between Telemetry, Med-Surg and DOU units
• Proficient in EPIC charting and electronic documentation
• Tracheostomy and ventilator experience preferred
• Ability to pass required health screenings (drug screen, TB test, fit test) and required vaccinations

Education

• Valid RN license required; specific degree (ADN/BSN) not specified

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Clinical assessment and prioritization in high-acuity settings
• Ventilator and tracheostomy care fundamentals
• Strong EPIC electronic health record skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced night shifts
• Time management and the ability to multi-task across units
