Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult ICU patients
• Continuously assess and monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and neurologic status
• Perform NIHSS stroke assessments and follow unit-specific stroke protocols
• Administer and titrate medications safely, following advanced cardiac life support guidelines
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate, timely charting
• Participate in unit competencies, skills checks, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (Nursys verification)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications required or current
• Current fit test, TB test/chest x-ray as required, and up-to-date immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)
• Successful completion of drug screening and physical/health statement
• ICU/Critical Care experience and comfort with ventilator management and complex hemodynamic monitoring

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Successful completion of hospital competency exams and required specialty checklists

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Familiarity with ventilator settings and respiratory support
• Ability to perform and interpret NIHSS for stroke patients
• Competence with advanced cardiac life support protocols
• Medication administration expertise and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Comfort with unit competency exams and prime skills checklists
