Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory patients and develop individualized treatment plans that improve breathing and comfort
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment with accuracy and confidence
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results to guide therapy adjustments
• Deliver aerosolized treatments, airway clearance therapies, and oxygen management according to best practices
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Document all treatments, assessments, and patient responses clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Participate in competency testing and skills checklists to maintain top-quality practice standards

Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license (ability to verify licensure required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Willingness to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, immunizations, 2-step PPD or IGRA, and Trinity 10 panel drug screen
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort managing ventilators and critical respiratory care
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient-centered care

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Solid understanding of arterial blood gas interpretation and respiratory pharmacology
• Familiarity with infection control practices and respiratory equipment maintenance
• Skilled in patient education, airway clearance techniques, and emergency respiratory interventions
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care environment and handling high-acuity patients
