Shift Type: Night (rotating) — 3x12-hour nights per week, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; includes weekend coverage (approximately 6 weekends per 6-week cycle / every-other-weekend rotation)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care for adult and geriatric patients in a short-term acute care MICU
- Independently manage a low-acuity ICU as the sole staffed RN when needed and act as charge nurse on floating assignments
- Assess, monitor and manage ventilated patients including ventilator adjustments and suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Initiate and maintain IV access, manage PICC/central/arterial lines and administer blood products safely
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips to maintain hemodynamic stability
- Administer and monitor continuous IV sedation and paralytics with vigilant assessment
- Recognize and manage dysrhythmias and participate in emergency cardiac responses
- Document thoroughly in Epic and collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT and radiology for coordinated care
- Support infection prevention practices, isolation precautions and wound/VAC care
Qualifications
- Active RN license (ability to hold or obtain Texas licensure; compact license status welcomed if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care/ICU nursing experience — 1st-timers with the right skills are welcome
- Current ACLS and PALS required; BLS required
- Comfortable and experienced with Epic charting (required)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and serve in a charge capacity over low-acuity units
- Experience with ventilator management, arterial/central line care, and titration of vasoactive drips
- Preferred: IV therapy skills, PICC management, and prior charge nurse experience
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
- Active RN license (TX or compact) and required certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and care of the ventilated patient
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP and CPAP familiarity
- Arterial line, central line and PICC line management
- Starting and maintaining IVs, blood product administration, and IV insulin protocols
- ABG interpretation and titration of vasoactive/cardiac drips
- Continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade monitoring
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, emergency response skills
- Chest tube assistance, wound vac care, infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Proficiency with Epic electronic charting and interdisciplinary communication
