Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, Maryland
Shift Type: Night shift (Third shift), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM; specific days to be confirmed with scheduling team
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Document resident care accurately and communicate observations during shift handoffs
- Help create a warm, home-like environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to follow care plans
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
- Active placement on the state nurse aide registry as required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in care for older adults
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
- Reliable, compassionate, and a strong team player for night shift care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and personal care
- Basic vital sign measurement and reporting
- Strong communication skills with residents, families, and team members
- Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling
- Good charting and documentation habits
- Ability to prioritize tasks during a busy night shift
