Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents/patients and support their daily living needs
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) with respect and dignity
- Measure and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, following facility protocols for patient safety
- Communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, and families to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans to ensure continuity of care
- Contribute to a positive unit culture by collaborating with coworkers and supporting team goals
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or T-CNA credential
- Authorization to work in New Mexico or ability to obtain state certification as needed
- Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) and adaptable to assignment needs
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
Education
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and experience with activities of daily living
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation of patient condition
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Teamwork, clear communication, and reliable documentation
- Safe lifting and transfer techniques, plus good situational awareness
