Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients using age-specific criteria and prioritize care based on clinical judgment
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and respond to changes in maternal or fetal status
• Serve as a first assist and scrub OB when needed to support safe surgical care
• Teach, direct, and supervise non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in MediTech
• Float to other units within your scope of practice as staffing needs require
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (must be current and active)
• 2+ years of OB nursing experience (required)
• Completed at least one prior travel assignment (required)
• BLS (AHA) certification (BLS may pend at submission)
• ACLS (AHA) or ALSO certification (required)
• NRP certification (required)
• STABLE certification (required)
• Fetal Monitoring (FHM) certification (required)
• Comfort with first assist and scrub OB responsibilities (preferred)
• Experience with MediTech or similar EMR and strong clinical documentation skills
• Willingness to float to units within your skill set and be flexible with schedule changes

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment in maternity care
• Care planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practices
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and neonatal stabilization principles
• Ability to educate patients and families with clear, compassionate communication
• Team leadership skills for directing non-RN staff and coordinating care
• Operative assistance skills for OB procedures (first assist/scrub OB)
• Adaptability to varied shifts and floating to other units
• Comfortable using MediTech and documenting in electronic medical records
