Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered Med/Surg care on telemetry units, ensuring safety and comfort
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to dysrhythmias
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility policies
• Perform thorough nursing assessments and document patient status accurately in the chart
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed while maintaining continuity and standards of care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
• Participate in orientation and required facility training to maintain competency

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required and must be uploaded with profile
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required and must be uploaded with profile
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
• Willingness to float to any Med/Surg unit
• Traveler must have own vehicle for this assignment
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required
• Agency submissions must include Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) up front
• Must provide at least two specific interview dates/times in your profile; 'anytime' will not be accepted
• Facility will not consider travelers who reside within 50 miles of the facility

Education

• Active Massachusetts RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg nursing knowledge and clinical assessment skills
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse (strongly preferred)
• Excellent critical thinking and prioritization under pressure
• Clear, timely documentation and charting skills
• Teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to float between units
• Good time management and the ability to manage a typical patient ratio of 1:6
