Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts (night), 12-hr blocks with a 36-hour guarantee; exact clock start/end times set by facility schedule; holiday coverage required (must work two of the specified holiday options)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate total nursing care for patients across Med Surg and the inpatient rehabilitation unit
- Serve as a backup Charge Nurse when needed, providing leadership and supervision
- Collaborate with ancillary staff and the interdisciplinary team to maintain professional nursing standards
- Provide patient and family teaching to support recovery and safe transitions
- Float between Acute Rehab and Med Surg as the unit census and patient needs require
- Adhere to facility attendance and call-off policies to ensure reliable patient coverage
Qualifications
- Active Vermont RN license (Compact accepted)
- Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg and Rehab experience — required
- Charge RN experience — required
- Previous travel experience of at least 3 months — required
- Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications
- Must have reliable personal vehicle (no public transport in the community)
- Perm address and any requested time-off (RTO) must be included in profile at submission
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years and up-to-date skills checklist
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong Med Surg nursing and inpatient rehabilitation knowledge
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Patient and family education skills
- Nursing leadership and charge nurse duties
- Ability to manage typical nurse-to-patient ratios (approximately 1:4–1:5)
- Comfort working in a small community critical access hospital environment
