Location: Joliet, IL
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Days and nights available; rotating day and night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. Shift assignments coordinated with unit manager to meet staffing needs.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality critical care to adult patients with compassion and clinical excellence
- Perform thorough neurological assessments, including NIHSS scoring when indicated
- Administer medications and follow DCI/BVP protocols safely and accurately
- Respond promptly to emergencies and use ACLS and BLS skills as needed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and adjust patient plans
- Document patient care, assessments, and treatments clearly and in compliance with facility standards
- Support unit staffing by floating to like units or related specialties within your skill set
- Maintain required competencies and complete Prime exams and skills checklists
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse licensure (Nursys verification) — eligible to practice in Illinois
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS and DCI/BVP certification/competency required
- Completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology, Prime Specialty, Prime Core Competencies, and Prime Skills Checklist
- Ability to pass required health screenings and annual immunizations (drug screen, TB testing, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, fit testing)
- Per diem flexibility with willingness to work every other weekend and rotate holidays
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ADN/BSN) and active RN license
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care nursing knowledge and situational awareness
- Proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS stroke assessment
- Familiarity with DCI/BVP protocols and medication administration
- Comfort floating to like units and adapting to different team workflows
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Ability to complete mandatory Prime testing and maintain competencies
