Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the CVICU setting
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Perform and document Prime skills, core competencies, and specialty exam requirements
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members during high-acuity events
• Assist with unit needs and float to related specialties as required by the manager

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (Nursys verification required)
• Critical care/CVICU experience (per diem CVICU practice)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications required
• Successful completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology, Specialty, Core Competencies exams and Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass required screenings: 10-panel drug screen, color-blind test, TB testing and other health requirements
• Up-to-date immunizations and health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, fit testing)
• Willingness to work every other weekend and holiday rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in critical care nursing and CVICU practices
• Strong assessment and prioritization skills for high-acuity patients
• Familiarity with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-op cardiac care
• Competence in medication administration and infusion therapies
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
• Comfort with floating to related specialty units when needed
