Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care including ventilator management and airway support for a diverse patient population
• Perform respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Respond promptly and effectively to respiratory emergencies and codes
• Administer therapies such as nebulized medications, chest physiotherapy, and oxygen management
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document treatments, patient responses, and equipment settings clearly and accurately
• Participate in competency validation activities and maintain required certifications

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapy license/certification verification (as required by facility)
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS and NRP certifications
• DCI/BVP certification as listed by the facility
• Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies Exam and Prime Skills Checklist
• Successful completion of required pre-employment screening: minimum 10-panel drug screen, fit test, TB testing (PPD or equivalent), and immunizations (Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap)
• Comfort and experience working night shifts and providing weekend/holiday coverage with scheduling flexibility
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on ventilator management and respiratory equipment proficiency
• Patient assessment and interpretation of blood gases and other respiratory diagnostics
• Emergency response and code team participation
• Infection control practices and fit-tested respirator use
• Clear, timely clinical documentation and care coordination
• Ability to teach patients and families about respiratory care and equipment
