Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing for patients in acute settings, delivering safe and timely interventions
- Continuously assess patients, monitor hemodynamic status, and respond to changing clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, while documenting care clearly and thoroughly
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to create and execute patient-centered plans
- Act promptly in emergencies, applying clinical judgment and life-saving skills when needed
- Complete required competency evaluations and specialty exams such as Prime Core Competencies and Prime Specialty Exam
- Maintain licensure and certifications and complete required health screenings and compliance tasks
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (state licensure required)
- BLS certification required; additional critical care certifications are a plus
- Previous experience in critical care preferred
- Willingness and ability to complete employer-required competency exams and skills checklists
- Able to pass required health screenings, background checks, and drug testing
- Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
- Comfort with advanced monitoring equipment and accurate documentation
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple complex patients
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy
- Infection control practices and adherence to clinical protocols
- BLS skills and commitment to ongoing skills validation
