Candidate Pay Rate: $32 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up the operating room for cardiac cases, ensuring all instruments and implants are sterile and ready
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, anticipating needs, and maintaining the sterile field
- Perform counts and document instrumentation and supplies accurately to support patient safety
- Respond promptly and professionally when called in for per diem/on-call assignments
- Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and perioperative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal outcomes
- Complete required competency exams, specialty checklists, and facility onboarding in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Experience in cardiac/heart surgery is REQUIRED — demonstrated perioperative cardiac experience
- BLS certification required
- DCI/BVP certification required
- Willingness to take call as part of per diem/on-call expectations
- Successful completion of facility pre-employment requirements (drug screen, immunizations, fit test, color-blind test, etc.)
- License/certificate verification as required by state and facility policies
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of operating room sterile technique and instrumentation
- Familiarity with cardiac surgery procedures, instruments, and implants
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure environments
- Ability to follow perioperative protocols and complete specialty competency testing
- Adaptability to variable schedules and on-call demands
- Attention to detail for counts, documentation, and patient safety
