Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Provide direct nursing care within scope of practice on the telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and communicate changes to the care team and physicians
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document clinical findings in EPIC
• Teach patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans to support recovery
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members and guide other nursing personnel to maintain standards of care
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and modify care plans accordingly

Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license required
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist and Prime Specialty Exam as part of onboarding
• Able to pass required health screenings and immunizations (drug screen, TB testing, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, fit test)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring best practices
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record
• Skilled in patient and family education techniques
• Familiarity with ventilator basics and respiratory support preferred
• Clear communication with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Accurate documentation and infection control principles
