Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the cardiologist/radiologist by scrubbing procedures and providing hands-on support during invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures
• Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data to ensure patient safety throughout procedures
• Prepare and maintain the procedure room, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready and at proper par levels
• Manage instruments and supplies, including inventory checks and restocking to support efficient case flow
• Perform required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards of care
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement activities, and the training of new staff
• Follow infection control, safety, and licensure requirements including drug and health screenings

Qualifications

• ARRT-R certification is mandatory and must be active (do not apply without ARRT-R)
• State licensure or Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCT) as required by state rules
• BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and must be maintained
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire
• Previous cardiovascular/cath lab experience preferred
• Proficient computer skills for documentation and monitoring systems
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations

Education

• ARRT-R certification and state license as required, or Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCT)
• Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and cath lab procedural experience
• Hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring
• Scrubbing techniques and sterile procedure support
• Instrument and supply management in a procedural setting
• Familiarity with DCI/BVP and related cardiovascular equipment
• Ability to perform patient monitoring and respond to changes during procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced procedural teams
