Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients of all ages in the ED
• Triage patients, assess acute conditions, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
• Administer treatments and medications according to policies and physician orders
• Maintain complete, accurate documentation and ensure compliance with unit and VMS requirements
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate rapid, effective patient care
• Participate in required competency testing and complete Prime Core Competencies and Skills Checklist
• Uphold infection control, immunization, and fit-testing standards to keep patients and staff safe
• Be ready to work scheduled per diem night shifts and respond professionally during high-acuity events

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license with verification (license/credentialing required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications (as required by the unit)
• DCI/BVP certification (listed as required)
• Experience in Emergency Department nursing and working 12-hour night shifts preferred
• Ability to meet minimum compliance requirements by 08/10/2025 and upload full documentation to VMS within 2 weeks of offer acceptance
• Willingness to commit to the full per diem assignment (26 weeks) and be available for the qualifying date 08/12/2025

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Comfort working 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient clinical documentation and attention to compliance detail
• Familiarity with credentialing workflows and VMS document uploads
• Competence with required unit-specific credentials, fit testing, and immunization protocols
• Ability to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam and Prime Skills Checklist
