Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality stepdown and subacute nursing care during night shifts with attention and compassion
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition, telemetry, and vital signs accurately
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Respond to urgent situations and escalate appropriately to ensure patient safety
• Maintain meticulous compliance with licensing, immunization, and credentialing requirements
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to demonstrate clinical readiness
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license—California licensure required or eligible
• BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to start
• PALS and NRP preferred where applicable by unit
• Per diem availability with ability to commit to the 26-week per diem assignment
• Must be available to work 08/12/2025 to qualify for this order
• Meet minimum compliance by 08/10/2025 and complete full credentialing uploads within required timelines
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and function well in a fast-paced stepdown/subacute environment
• Successful completion of drug screening, immunizations or declination forms, TB testing, physical/health statement, and fit test

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Stepdown and subacute patient care—monitoring, assessment, and rapid recognition of clinical change
• Telemetry interpretation and critical thinking for acutely ill patients
• Strong medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Comfort working night shift rhythms and maintaining continuity of care
• Excellent communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary teams
• Accurate charting and familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Adherence to compliance, credentialing, and facility onboarding requirements
