Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients on night shifts
• Perform timely assessments, develop nursing priorities, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and according to policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and safe discharges
• Document accurately in the medical record and complete Prime Core Competencies and skills checklists
• Maintain infection control standards and adhere to required health screenings and immunizations
• Support unit needs during surge events and act as a dependable per diem resource

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state verification required)
• Medical-surgical nursing experience, comfortable working nights
• Current BLS and ACLS required
• PALS and NRP preferred or as required by the unit
• DCI/BVP certification and Prime Skills Checklist completion preferred
• Ability to complete health screenings, immunizations, fit test, drug screening and other credentialing items by required deadlines
• Willingness to commit to the full 26-week per diem assignment and meet minimum compliance requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience with medication administration, IVs, and common med-surg procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients during busy night shifts
• Excellent communication and teamwork with nurses, physicians, and support staff
• Infection control practices, patient safety focus, and attention to detail
