Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit during 12-hour day shifts
• Perform thorough assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient progress
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and carry out treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Document care and patient responses clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Maintain unit safety and infection-control standards, including fit testing and PPE protocols
• Participate in required competency testing and skills validation (Prime Core Competencies & Skills Checklist)
• Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and smooth transitions of care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with active, verifiable license/certification (license verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (DCI/BVP required)
• PALS and NRP preferred where applicable per unit requirements
• Ability to meet minimum compliance requirements by 08/10/2025 and complete full credentialing file promptly
• Willingness to undergo health screening, immunizations or documented declinations (COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Hepatitis B, Tdap)
• Ability to pass required drug screening (minimum 10-panel) and TB/PPD or chest x-ray where applicable
• Must commit to the full 26-week per diem assignment and be available for required qualification date 08/12/2025

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid medical-surgical nursing knowledge and strong clinical assessment skills
• Medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and common MS procedures
• Familiarity with infection control practices and immunization documentation
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to variable per diem schedules and unit needs
• Competency in completing standardized exams and skills checklists
