Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients during night shifts
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure surgical instruments are available and accounted for
• Perform patient assessments and handoffs clearly and compassionately at shift start and end
• Follow infection control protocols and complete required documentation in the electronic medical record
• Participate in required competency testing and checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California
• Operating Room experience and comfort working in surgical settings
• Experience working night shifts and 12-hour schedules
• Completion of required screenings and immunizations: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB test or PPD and chest x-ray if indicated, Varicella, Tdap
• Successful completion of required pre-employment checks such as drug screening, fit testing, and color-blind testing
• Current BLS certification required; advanced certifications encouraged when applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and procedure workflows
• Ability to prioritize and respond in high-acuity situations
• Clear communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced OR environment
• Comfort using electronic medical records and documenting care accurately
