Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients in the cardiac cath lab during night shifts
• Assist physicians and the cath lab team during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Monitor patient hemodynamics, recognize changes quickly, and intervene appropriately
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and cath lab equipment to support efficient procedures
• Administer medications and IV therapy per protocols and document care accurately
• Complete required competency exams, skills checklists, and maintain licensure documentation
• Participate in unit-based teamwork to ensure smooth patient handoffs and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• BLS required; ACLS required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Cath lab experience and comfort working in a procedure-focused environment
• Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks (drug screen, TB, immunizations, fit test, etc.)
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam and Prime Skills Checklist during onboarding

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and cardiac monitoring
• Skilled in sterile technique and working in a procedural environment
• Ability to interpret EKGs and respond to arrhythmias
• Familiarity with cath lab equipment and radiation safety principles
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced procedural care
• Detail-oriented documentation and familiarity with competency-based validation
