Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
- Continuously monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms and promptly communicate changes to the care team
- Perform accurate clinical documentation in EPIC EMR and maintain clear handoffs
- Provide patient- and family-centered teaching and education to support recovery and discharge planning
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff regarding patient condition and diagnostic results
- Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient status and emergent situations
- Lead and guide other nursing personnel while upholding unit standards of care
Qualifications
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience required
- Ventilator management experience preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred and ability to meet employer immunization/screening requirements
- Ability to pass required competency exams, skills checklists, drug screen, fit test and health screenings
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
- Care planning, implementation and evaluation in acute care settings
- Clear, timely clinical documentation in EPIC
- Patient and family teaching with compassionate communication
- Familiarity with ventilator basics (preferred)
- Ability to work autonomously on night shifts and collaborate with the care team
