Roles & Responsibilities

• Care for fresh open-heart post-op patients (CABG) with vigilance and clinical precision
• Manage high-acuity ICU patients across SICU/MICU/Neuro populations, delivering evidence-based critical care
• Provide CRRT support and monitoring for patients requiring continuous renal replacement therapy
• Perform neurological assessments and stroke care, utilizing NIHSS and stroke protocols
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear patient records and handoffs
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations and make-up coverage per contract expectations
• Float between units as needed to support patient care and unit staffing demands
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to ensure safe practice

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure with Nursys verification required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications (listed as required)
• Demonstrated ICU nursing experience with Open Heart/CABG and Neurocritical care
• Experience with CRRT and managing high-acuity post-op cardiac patients
• EPIC charting experience is a must
• Ability to work nights, every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday as outlined

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and hemodynamic monitoring skills
• Proficiency in post-operative open-heart (CABG) care and chest tube management
• Hands-on experience with CRRT setup, troubleshooting, and patient monitoring
• Skilled in neurological exams, stroke recognition, and NIHSS scoring
• Solid EPIC documentation and electronic charting skills
• Ability to manage ventilators and advanced ICU support modalities
• Team communication, rapid response, and effective handoff practices
