Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients continuously and use the nursing process to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Provide direct, high-quality telemetry nursing care, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes in condition
• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members about patient status and diagnostic results
• Deliver patient and family education to promote understanding, safety, and recovery
• Perform and document nursing interventions accurately and promptly in EPIC
• Coordinate and delegate tasks to support staff while maintaining standards of care
• Respond quickly and clinically to patient emergencies and changes in cardiac monitoring
• Maintain compliance with required competencies, specialty skills, and unit protocols

Qualifications

• Current, valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (per site health requirements); boosters preferred
• Ability to pass drug screen, fit test, TB testing, and required immunizations

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical judgment in telemetry settings
• Care planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Strong patient education and communication skills
• Familiarity with EPIC documentation and workflows
• Teamwork, delegation, and leadership on the unit
• Infection control and critical care basics including ventilator awareness
