Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult patients in the ICU
• Perform focused assessments and monitor patients using advanced hemodynamic and ventilator parameters
• Administer medications and manage complex infusions safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and timely in the electronic health record
• Serve as an advocate and communicator for patients and families during stressful times
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and support best-practice protocols
• Maintain competency through required exams, skills checklists, and continuing education

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or a multistate compact RN license
• ICU nursing experience and strong critical care clinical judgment
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or required by facility
• Completion of DCI/BVP credentialing and Prime exams/skills checklists as part of onboarding
• Current immunizations and health screenings as required (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB, Hep B, influenza, varicella, Tdap) and drug screening
• Ability to pass a fit test and meet facility-specific onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting arterial/central lines
• Strong IV medication and infusion pump management skills
• Excellent clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking abilities
• Clear communication skills for handoffs, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient education
• Comfort with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Infection control practices and adherence to safety protocols
